I
was born in Southern California in the 80's. I lived in Oakland with my
mother until I was 11 years old and then moved to Moreno Valley with my
father and his family until I turned 18 when I joined the Navy. I
served from 2001 - 2006.
I feel that the best description of me is represented by my enneagram type. I am a type 4 otherwise known as the individualist. I am extremely emotionally oriented and highly creative. I am unafraid of the feelings of others and I often have it said to me, "I don't know why I feel so comfortable telling you this but. . ." This is the highest praise for me aside from being told that I am a good mother.
I was born of an extramarital affair. My mother was the hopeful mistress. I am experienced as a child of a single mother, a father and stepmother, half siblings, and feelings of alienation. Now I try to teach my children loyalty and compassion for each other. My goal is a positive family experience and this is what I wish to portray in my stories to children. That no matter what situation they are in, family loyalty is important while correcting behaviors that are not productive.
My vision for the future is a series of books dedicated to the emotional intelligence of children with each story touching on a specific feeling word just like The Red Big Wheel. I also intend to make all of my books available in Spanish. The Spanish version of The Red Big Wheel is in the last stage of translation and should be published by the New Year 2014. Additionally, my books will be available in both languages in audio format. Recording of The Red Big Wheel is scheduled for December 2013.
Thank you for your interest in me and my books. I will update this page as information changes.

Editorial Reviews
Written by a mother of young children, The Red Big Wheel
is a story about three siblings learning to put family first. Family
loyalty is a lesson that parents impart upon their children throughout
their lifetime. This story introduces the concept in a positive, fun,
and loving way displaying the natural resilience of children and the
love they have for each other! This book introduces a feeling word and
also includes discussion questions at the end to help you continue the
dialogue with your children. Enjoy!
